And...it doesn't like much being ready for the Grand Opening! It still needs the rest of the 4 ft. dog wire around one side. He put the dog wire on the outside around the pen. The door is also made from dog fence wire and has a coon proof lock. The top is covered with chicken wire.
The nest boxes need straw put in them. One more rung needs to go on the ladder. We have bought the feed but still need to put in a feeder pan and water pan. The gravel needs spreading.
The inside chicken wire extends a foot inside on the ground and is tacked to the ground with welding rods. Hubby says NOTHING will dig under this! We'll see! We will be picking up the girls tomorrow night! I'll post on Saturday with pictures of the hotel and it's guests!!
Yesterday I found a strange site in the Elephant Ear tub! I did not know Elephant Ears bloom but I'm pretty sure this is a bloom !
I know it's hot but I love soup and got a hankering for a pot. I made the best pot of Vegetable/Beef soup I've ever made! This pot was full !
This is what was left after lunch and supper. I started with a pack of stew meat from the freezer.Most of you know we raise our own organic beef. I had saved some beef broth from a roast I cooked in the crock pot so I added that.Fresh, new potatoes , green beans, corn, onions, okra and my home canned tomatoes were added. I added store bought carrots and celery. The secret I think made it so good, I added 2 cups of chopped up Banana pepper from the garden!Salt, fresh ground black pepper and 2 tablespoons of Tony Chachere's Cajun seasoning.
Eating among the gang is a family affair. TC loves the pups and doesn't mind sharing his dog food! He thinks he's a dog anyway!
When Hubby went to his weekly jaunt at the Stockyard a man was selling flower pots off his truck. My Hubby knows how I love pots so he bought me a few.
This one isn't too deep so I'll probably set something in it! I was thinking about your courtyard he said! Ahwwwwwwwwww! So sweet!
I'll be busy today getting house work and laundry done. We have decided we are going to start going to Yard Sales on Fridays!You should see all the yard treasures his cousin and wife have found!!
