Wide Receiver - Steve McNair Jr.

Because I have received several e-mails asking questions about Steve McNair's son known as Junior, who plays football here in Hattiesburg, read alot of untrue gossip being reported as fact , I am posting what I know about this young man. Steve McNair Jr. is 18 years old, born April 10, 1991. He has been raised by Steve's mother Lucille his most of his life. He now lives with his mother, Cotina Feazell. Steve Senior was never married to Junior's mother or Steven's mother Sheila McNair, who is no relation. Mechelle is the mother of the other two sons, Trenton and Tyler. Junior played high school football at Mt.Olive High School as a Freshman and Sophomore then switched to Oak Grove High School in Hattiesburg for his Jr Year last year. A Senior there this year , he is in the Class of 2010.
This picture is from the Mt. Olive Wildcats. He had played football from a small child and had played the QB position until 9th grade when he did as he Dad told him to do, and "followed his heart" which was , switching to the Wide Receiver position.

As an Oak Grove Warrior, he is 6'1 190 pounds, bench presses 280 and 450 squat. He caught 58 passes for 962 yards during his Jr. season. As of his Jr year,he is being recruited by Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Tulsa , USM ( University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg) and West Virginia. He says he is leaning toward USM and WV. I hope he will choose to play at USM so that I can follow his college career in person the way I followed his fathers pro career.

I have also read reports that Brett Favre attended Oak Grove. No, he did not! His children did and do attend there and he does work out with the High School football team. Steve Sr. has also worked out with the team and was a constant Friday night sight on the sidelines at Juniors games last year.
That will be a wonderful sight lost this coming year for all involved and especially Junior!!
UPDATE...............FEBRUARY 4, 2010
Steve Jr. signed to play for The University of Southern Mississippi !!!! WAH HOO !!!!!
